Pete #20 - 13.10.22
Watercolour paint on 300gsm watercolour paper. 297mm x 420mm.
13th of October 2022, Pete had another short stay in the hospital, this time with the nose tube back in place. The tube was always a sign of a setback, a reminder of how far he still had to go. When Pete sent me this photo, he held up his fist, like a boxer ready for the next round. He used to say during moments like these, "Who beats me?" Even though I felt an overwhelming sadness, those words always lifted me. They reminded me that no matter how tough things got, Pete's fight wasn’t over, and I held onto the belief that nothing could truly defeat him.
100% of the profits of this painting will be donated to Tour De Cure - an organisation in Australia dedicated to cancer research.
